What does living with abundance mean to you?
Typically, abundance is defined as having plenty—plenty of money, plenty of things, and the luxury of excess. This definition implies that abundance is measured by what you have accumulated.
I have another thought; solely measuring your worth by what you have can actually create imbalance in your life.
For me, living with abundance means having the freedom to choose how, and with whom, I spend my precious time. It is the freedom to live my life on my terms, and by my values and principles. In essence, for me abundance is more about balance rather than belongings. If we have too much of one – material things – and not the other – time to enjoy those things, the scale tips and leads to the imbalance I hear so many women talk about.
I recently took what most would consider a crazy leap from a cushy corporate job to entrepreneurship, creating a business of my own. It was the scariest and most exciting thing I have ever done career-wise and has afforded me the joy of living with abundance.
While striving for success, we sometimes lose sense of ourselves and all the true riches that the life we worked so hard to build has to offer. Time with family and friends, exploration, health, joy and peace. Only you know what and how much you need, but if you can find the balance that works for you, that is what living with abundance means to me.
And I know this is easier said than done…
Here are some tips for maintaining balance and living with true abundance.
Set Boundaries: Create clear boundaries between work and personal life by setting time limits for work-related tasks.
Prioritize Self-care: Schedule time for activities that recharge you, such as exercise, hobbies, or meditation.
Delegate and Ask for Help: Whether at home or work, delegating tasks can lighten your load and reduce stress.
Use Time Blocking: Allocate specific times for focused work, family, and personal time to ensure each gets attention.
Mindful Transitions: Practice mindfulness techniques to mentally shift between roles, which helps reduce feeling overwhelmed.
Above all, think about the areas of abundance in your own life beyond material wealth. As you explore what abundance means in your life, it can be helpful to have a guide along the way. Connect with me and together, we can form a path that aligns with your unique vision and values.
